Setting the Table for Breakfast
Situation
Lying in bed, feeling hungry, Ermanno thinks about breakfast. He imagines Zampettone, his beloved big sheepdog, herding the words like sheep. As he counts sheep, he falls asleep. Will he remember the new words?

Lesson
Mini-Dialogue: Breakfast at the Dream Table
Scene: In his dream, Ermanno is sitting at the breakfast table. Oliver comes over to serve him.
Oliver: Would you like bread?
Ermanno (smiling like a teacher): Do you mean Brot?
Oliver (repeats carefully): Willst du Brot?
Ermanno: Ja, danke. Ich möchte gern Brot.
Oliver: Willst du Marmelade?
Ermanno: Ja, danke. Ich möchte gern Marmelade haben. Erdbeermarmelade.
Oliver: Willst du Butter?
Ermanno: Ja, gern, auch Butter, danke.
Oliver: Willst du Honig?
Ermanno: Ja, danke. Ich möchte gern Honig.
Oliver: Willst du eine Maske?
Ermanno (shaking his head): Nein, Oliver. Ich will keine Maske. Wofür?
In this night, Ermanno dreams about food while Oliver studies German words. Meanwhile, the invisible waiter sets the tables for breakfast.

Drag each word to the tray for its gender.
Oliver's Homework
After a long day (and an intensive unit about the three German genders), Oliver is in bed, while his monkey Oreste is still keen to play. (Monkeys sleep by day and go wild at night.)
Ermanno's Homework
In bed, hungry, Ermanno pictures Zampettone herding the words like sheep. Will he remember the articles? Write the words in a three-column notebook table — der/die/das. Check 'Ermannos Frühstück'.
