Lost at the Train Station: Questions

W-questions (questions with question words)

German W-questions begin with a question word, and the verb comes immediately after it.

Wann fährt der nächste Zug nach Hamburg?

Wie bin ich nach Hamburg gekommen?


Yes / No questions

In yes/no questions, the verb is in first position.

Examples from the text

Haben Sie die Orientierung verloren?

(Möchten Sie ein) Hotel in der Stadt oder außerhalb?

(Möchten Sie ein) Einzelzimmer oder Doppelzimmer?
